The whole site of the tomb measures 6 km from East to West and 1 to 3 km North to South. Inside are the separate tombs of Jingdi, his empress and construction workers. His tomb measured 32 meters high and was placed in the center of the area facing East. The walled enclosure surrounding the Emperor’s tomb was 418 meters square and the walls started 120 meters from his tomb, with gates placed centrally on the four sides, only the South was excavated. There are 4 entrance passages to the tomb, the one from the East was 69 meters while the rest were 17 to 21 meters long. There were in total 86 narrow tunnels, 19 to 21 on each side and about 4 to 100 meters long. Some excavations of tunnels 11, 13 and 19 on the East side revealed ceramic figures of animals, cavalrymen, infantry men, weapons, wooden horse, carriages, horse trappings of bronze and equipment.
